Menstruation and Hajj
Question asked by Fay.

Question:
Please clarify what happens at the time of hajj if a woman gets her menses What is the consequence of this state of impurity at the most critical part of the hajj? If she has to abstain is the hajj valid? Is it obligatory for her to perform hajj again? What if she cannot afford to perform hajj again?
Answer:
If a woman menstruates during hajj she can perform all the rituals except for tawaaf of the ka'bah. It means she enjoys an exception and her hajj is fulfilled. She does not need to repeat it. Hazrat A'ishah, mother of believers, once faced similar situation. She started crying. The Prophet of God told her:
This is something God has decreed for the daughters of Adam. Keep on doing what the rest of the pilgrims are doing except circumambulating the ka'bah.
