Media Vs Islam

Salam
May be the forum have debated this issue, but i want to restart it for those who have not read about this issue.
Today media is considered to be the most powerful tool in this materialistic world. So I am putting down several questions and everyone is welcome to answer them. People can also add more questions to this topic to make this debate more comprehensive and useful.

1-What is the concept of Islam regarding Media?

2-Do Islam gives right of speech and freedom to individuals? If yes then what role should media play in our society.

3-Is photography and moving images (movies) are forbidden in Islam? If yes then how can we use media in promoting Islam.

4-Some people said that religious scholars (mullahs) always reject latest advances in sciences and photography and movies are one of them. Is this right?

---------
Its very bad they reject every new invention meant for common use in daily life.
But its equally good that when time passes and they understand its importance then they adopt the same with more zeal than common folk.
For example, loudspeakers were strongly rejected by them in the beginning but now a days anyone can see who is the real user of this scientific product invented by yahood o nasara.
