Tolerance Day
International Tolerance Day
is celebrated in Nov every year since 1996 and Studying Islam supports this message strongly as it has been agreed generally that Education is the key to tolerance and resolving differences among various communities of human beings.
Studying Islam and its sister sites try to clarify misconceptions and coming to commonalities among groups rather than differences. Ignorance leads to unnecessary differences not only among various, rather in same communities as well i.e. intracommunity clashes and on larger scale these turn into dreadful consequences like wars."
"Intolerance is often caused by ignorance and fear. When we don't know about other cultures, religions or nations we might fear them. Education is the most important way to promote tolerance. Teaching people what our shared rights and freedoms are is the first step in tolerance education.
