Asalam Aalaikum,

I congradulate the team of studying-islam.org for starting this wonderful and useful thread especially for Computer crazies like me.

Allah(swt) has full filled my dreams through you.

Inshallah I'll stay in touch with all of you and post all the problems related to my computer system in this thread.

I have some general knowledge questions related to the field of Computers which confuse me alot and would appreciate if the IT
professionals in this thread answer my questions.

my questions are as follows:

1) What is the difference between Software Engineer and Software Developer? Do both of these titles have same meanings or are they different?

2) What is System Engineering? Is a System Analyst same as System Engineer?

Asalam Aalaikum,

Let me mention my immature and small level Specialities.

My name is Fahad Ahmed and I have done O & A-levels. Currently I am doing MCSE(Microsoft Certified System Engineering)2003 track and I have already done a computer hardware maintainance and reparing course from Saving Systems and Technologies.

I have worked as a trainee in a Computer Institute for 3 months as a network and hardware support.

Also I have worked for a Software House "Alpha Technologies" as a marketing agent for 1 year.

I can do little bit of hardware and windows related troubleshooting.

Have knowledge about LSP(Local Security Policies) which is only supported in Workgroup Environment.

Also know how to make users and groups in winxp and how to manage groups as administrator.

Inshallah I am going to take admission in University for my Higher studies.

Asalam Aalaikum,

Inshallah soon I'll be studying about Active Directory and Domains.

I keep myself updated with the latest technologies that enter the market and also keep myself aware of any new malcious softwares that can attack the internet in future.

On 5th of January , a malicious worm is going to attack internet which will slow down the speed of internet by sending millions of spam e-mails.

This worm is very dangerous and What it will do is scan an infected computer's address books for anything it can find and send millions of messages under the identity of "government entities". The scary part is that these worms don't show themselves on one's computer as they send spam without the user's knowledge. If you notice any politically-driven spam on your computer after New Years, make sure to delete it right away.

Salaam everyone!!!

My name is Faraz and my company is KiwiNET. I am a new I.T. solutions business in the U.K. and am looking to take on Web design, software or hardware work (if local) from anyone needing some doing for them. My rates are negotiable and competitive, projects estimates and analysis are FREE. My competences are:

HTML

CSS

JavaScript

Some Java

ASP

Visual Basic 6

Hardware Troubleshoting, Upgrading & Networking

SQL

And I have access to plenty on-line resources to help me along with
projects.

Also, I am looking to increase my team with human resources who at least match my skills as above if not better them. If there are any of you in the U.K. who like me (a one-man band) are starting out in the I.T. market but need some help in numbers or expertise of the
market, I propose that we arrange to work together to form a team and support group to find customers and projects, then delegate out to each other work according to our skills. It would be a help if some of you had an extensive understanding of the I.T. market to advise us on our course of actions, etc.

I look forward to hearing form you, and working with you.

Asalam Aalaikum,

Thanks Hkhan,
Indeed,Computer Technology is essential not only for the present time but also for the future when the demands and requirements will grow.

No matter in which field you go, whether it is Engineering, Medical or Defence,know-how of computer is a requirment.

A Civil or Automobile Engineer must know "autocat" ,"Flash" and other designing softwares.

A Doctor must have MT(Medical Transcription) Certification inorder to boost his career in Medical field.

For Defence, their must be different computer requirments.

please see this from a member and give your advice. thnx

Assalamu alaykum

This is to confirm receipt of your email.

I also have a first remark. I had to remove the Qur'an for all course from
my pc as it made my pc very unstable.
I will try other course material later

rgrds

(Just for the members info. I think what happens with Qura'n for All downloading is that the PC starts with this each time from bismillahirrahman irrahim. I like this personally on mine and kids' PC but if it gives some other problem, then obviously we have to look into this. So far this is the first complaint in this regard. I shall put it up on our Communities forum for the I.T. community members for their expert advice)

Asalam Aalaikum,

Well, even I had problems with "Qur'an for all series" when I was downloading it. I removed it and re-downloaded it but again I had the same problem.

I think their is something wrong with the execution file which might be creating problems.

I am not that techinically experienced ,this is just my opinion.

As-Salaam-O-Alay-Kum,

I have found that "Quran for All" software when installed on a PC, it writes (modifies) in the registry file in the C (Windows destination) drive in Windows (Folder).

It is true that when the program takes few moments in loading the software. But, the loading time may vary computer to computer depending on the processor speed.

Another thing to look into is the Hard-Disk free space.
If you do not have enough free space to load and run other applications then it will make your computer unstable.

You may try installing softeare on another PC and see if it works.

I have tried installing it and tested it, it works perfectly fine on Windows XP.
