Muslims from all over the world push and shove their way ferociously to get to what is called ‘the black stone’ in order to touch it and kiss it, believing that the stone has the power to heal them, save them or bless them!!!
As far as I understand, Muslims do not kiss the black stone thinking its ha magical healing powers. Perhpas some do that, but that is shirk. Majority of Muslims do it as a passage of ritual. As Allah mentions in the holy Quran there is no harm in following the rituals of the Hajj. 2.158 o! (the mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the indications of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who is on pilgrimage to the House (of Allah) or visiteth it, to go around them (as the pagan custom is). And he who doeth good of his own accord, (for him) lo! Allah is Responsive, Aware.
