Ok Sir!. here is my understanding about the Matter: Zakat is a TAX in its nature & an Islamic Govt cannot take any tax OTHER than Zakat. therefore MOST of the things be Available for Zakat deduction. From the Sunnah we find two types of Zakat: one on WEALTH (2.5%) & the Other on PRODUCTION (5or10%). Today we have a v Large sector of Paid Servants. We can't ignore it or even think to exempt it from zakat. So we need to relate it. We see in Production that if it is based on CAPITAL or LABOR only its Zakat ratio is 10% whereas if it is based on these two BOTH then this ratio is Half 5%. (I don't know which 3rd factor U counting in the Production). Therefore SERVICES can easily be taken as Production based on LABOR only & that's what Mr Ghamidi did. Unfortunately I'm unable to understand until now what EXACTLY is the of ARGUMENT of U. (aap ko Asal main kia IETARAAZ hai un ki raay per). However I've tried to explain it to U according to my understanding hoping it might clear some points to U. Now w8ng for ur comments & If still there's is sm Q pl state it as clearly as possible. Thanks & Regards
