Why were we created? Were
we created only to eat, drink and have fun? Was there any higher purpose
involved in our creation or we were supposed to be merely players on this stage
since the prequel of the drama of life where some of us continue strutting and
fretting for a moment and some being responsible, lead a very reasonable life.
But at the end of the day all of us are left with no option other than becoming
the food for insects. This is the end of our worldly body. Is this the only
sequel of our drama? The answer is a big “NO”. When we reflect a little upon our
life on earth we are confronted with many such apparently equivocal questions
and the moment we start analyzing the natural phenomena we are dished out with a
vast variety of very explicit and extremely categorical answers about our
transitory life on earth. We come to know that the Creator of all creators
fashioned this life with some purpose and we have not just been flung in this
world to lead a carefree life.
Almighty Allah created all of us just to worship Him. And the life in this world
is nothing but a trial. We will be tested according to the level of our capacity
to qualify for the best life that has been promised to us by the Lord of all
lords. Thos who do good deeds will be gifted with the promised land full of all
pleasures which cannot even be thought or dreamt of in this animal life. When
the Sun follows the moon and the moon follows the Sun, don’t we see a well
conceived system. The Sun starts its prayer at dawn ( Kayam position) and at
noon reaches the Rakooh position. Then the Sajood starts with the dusk that
continues till dawn. Is this not an indication for us to learn a pretty good
lesson from it i.e. to submit ourselves fully to the will of our Lord in terms
of prayers five time in the mosque as well as in our day to day matters.
This ephemeral life will pass with the twinkling of an eye and then our good and
bad deeds will be weighed in the scale to award us a status in real life in the
hereafter. The life of this world is brief and the one offered to us in the
hereafter is what is permanent and everlasting. Injustice will be done to none
as Almighty Allah is the most Just of all justices. Those who do the evil will
be recompensed to the extent of evil they do. And the believers who do righteous
deeds will be gifted with the everlasting life of comfort and contentment in
paradise, underneath which flow rivers, wherein they will have their abodes for
ever.
If this be the case of our life that our Lord asks us to live here according to
the plan of action He has set for us, then how dare we pass a moment of our life
without His divine guidance whose blessings are everlasting and unlimited for
all of us. Merciful Lord of all the worlds demands us to take this fleeting life
as a trial. His last prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him) has termed this world
as a prison. So, in view of all this we must live here in such as way that we
follow His scheme of things i.e. Qura’n and Sunnah to be successful in the
hereafter wherein to enjoy ourselves with the everlasting pleasures in Paradise
underneath which flow rivers of honey and milk. This is the purpose of our life
on earth, nothing more nothing less. May Almighty Allah grant us the knowledge,
wisdom and the will to do good and righteous deeds to be successful in this life
and hereafter as well. Amen.
