Is it Terrorism?

"Half-a-dozen Virginia Tech students gathered silently around a bank of televisions in the student centre late on Wednesday watching images of Cho Seung-Hui posing with his guns and video of him ranting against rich kids and debauchery."

How many of you guys reckon that this horrific murder of 32 students was an act of terrorism?

How many of you think that the American media will label it as an act of terrorism?

'for my children, for my brothers and sisters...'

'martyrdom' video by Cho Seung-Hui, talking about South Korea.

How many of you guys think they're gonna blame South Korea for feeding him these Terrorist ideas?

The haven't blamed South Korea yet...but guess what! they DID blame Islam!

Yeah...believe it.

They're linking the fact that he wrote Ismail Ax on his arm to the story of Ismail (AS) in the Quran, how Ismail's innocent blood had to be sacrificed for a greater good by Ibrahim (SAW) ...but then God sent a ram in his place at the last minute...etc, they DID mension that 'were not suggesting that he's a fundamentalist muslim in any way because we don't have any evidence...' but why have they put so much emphasis on Islam and not the references he made to Christianity and christ? And why have they not refered to what he was saying about doing this for his 'brothers and sisters'?

Obviously this kid was just a confused and very ill guy who hasnt been treated properly at all by the people that were responsible for his mental health...and being an English student, he clearly used all the usual contraversial methods hes probably read about to get as much attention as possible from this crime...refering to religion, because it has such a contraversial and powerful role in society nowadays, refering to the unjust crimes that occur in the world...because he wants to make himself out as a hero-etc

But there still seems to be some kind of trigger that really pushed him into doing this. We can't just sit back and say he was 'ill' and thats it. I dont know about you guys, but i feel really sorry for this person. I mean, the way the news papers described him after the crime...'an alien' 'an outcast' 'a loner' 'a sick disturbed person'...ok so he did do something horrific and im not glorifying it at all, but the way these people are taggin him and almost name calling him, it seems like they're ...bullying him. I wonder if this is what he had to go through? Maybe this is what pushed him over the edge? Along with the millions of injustices America commits against the world each day..thers a reason behind why they didnt refer to that part of the video where he said 'you have blood on your hands'...i found that so creepy. Because he's right. They, the government, do have blood on theyr hands.

Cho Seung Hui was a product of American society. Of the pressures young adults have to face growing up in such a system. Of the unfairness they witness every time they switch on the news. Of the labels the rest of the world attaches to them just because they live in a country that has such a corrupt government. It's enough to drive anyone crazy. Its just so sad that it took 33 deaths in one day for the world to realise that.
